Social Media

I’ve been working in social media management since 2014, managing profiles and consulting with bands, authors, small businesses, a university, and my own personal projects like Rock On Purpose and The Grizzly Awards. Some highlight campaigns are below. Feel free to contact me for more examples!

Call to Action Campaigns

I am a cofounder of The Grizzly Awards, and before that I was involved with developing the We Love Christian Music Awards. Both are powered by fan voting, so developing social media content for them centers around a simple call to action: vote.

Here is some of the imagery I created for the 2020 Grizzly Awards, as well as links to specific posts with examples of the copy I was creating.

I created a template and then a special image for each individual nominee, which bands then shared across their own social media channel. I also created promo for the event itself, a call for donations, and even a frame for use on Facebook profile pictures.

Lyric and Quote Images

I believe that shareable content is one of the keys to increasing engagement. I love working with authors, brands, and bands to create sharable, eye-catching, consistently visually branded images based around quotes. These are just a few of the recent sets I’ve created for clients.

Event Promotion

Event promotion is unique in that it often involves targeting to a specific area. During the 14 months I managed Christian Brothers University’s platforms, I did a significant amount of promoting events, including with paid ad campaigns targeted to specific areas and interests. In my work with bands like Disciple, promoting tour dates (including with occasional boosted posts or ad sets) is a constant part of the job, involving making assets for all different social media platforms as well as setting up the most effective Facebook event pages. Below are some examples of event promotions.

In my role with NewReleaseToday.com from 2014-2018, I frequently designed imaging (to supplement video and text posts) in support of specific album releases. I would echo the style of the album's artwork to create a series of posts, accompanied by shortlinks so I could deliver reports on metrics afterwards. Sometimes this also involved contests; the images below were part of a contest I ran on Twitter and Facebook in 2017 for Matthew West's album All In.
